Copa Podio announced yesterday that top GF Team black belt Jaime Canuto has had to withdraw from the upcoming Lightweight Grand Prix due to an injury suffered in training. He will be replaced by teammate Patrick Gaudio. 

Gaudio competed on Copa Podio once before, taking part in 2014's middleweight Grand Prix. Since then, he has been active in numerous tournaments both gi and no gi. 

He was a gold medallist at the recent Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in Rio de Janeiro (see matches here) and a no-gi Brazilian national champion. He generally competes in events with same-day weigh-ins as a middle heavyweight (-88kg / 194lb) hinting at a tough last minute weight cut.
