FloGrappling is proud to announce that we will provide live coverage of the 2016 Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship April 19-24.

The jiu-jitsu world’s attention is on the United Arab Emirates for the upcoming 8th annual Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, and FloGrappling will bring non-stop live streaming coverage of the action, as well as archived footage of the matches. 

The Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, known better as the World Pro, will feature more than 1,800 of the toughest competitors on the planet. Reigning black belt champions Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida and Mackenzie Dern will be among the athletes stepping onto the blue and red mats. 



On April 23, the final day of competition, fans will experience the inaugural Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Legends, which brings six legendary grapplers together for a series of superfights. 

The final day of the event will include a celebration of the main event champions, who will be greeted with an exclusive red carpet awards ceremony. Winners will be selected according to new international rankings, developed by the federation during the 2015-2016 season and based on the performance of the players in the final round of the tournament.

Held at the IPIC Arena in Abu Dhabi, the 10-day mega-event brings together a record-breaking number of athletes with over 5,500 competitors representing over 100 countries. Also featured are associated events such as the Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Festival, which is aimed at UAE nationals under the age of 18, and the Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Youth Cup (April 17-18). 

The Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
