Paulo and Joao Miyao's training schedule has taken on a new element: CrossFit. Already known as two of the hardest working jiu-jitsu competitors on the planet, they've recently begun training CrossFit to supplement their prowess on the mat. 

The twins have joined Brick CrossFit in New York, training at their Grand Central location. Twice a week, their engage in the popular workout method with the aim of further developing athletic qualities such as strength, explosiveness, and endurance. 

We followed them through a typical workout to see how they train.

The Miyao Brothers CrossFit Workout

Warm-up 
Three rounds of: 
• 10 x band pull-aparts 
• 10 x band strict press 
• 1 x handstand wall walk 


Strength 
Every two mins for 16 mins, alternating between:  
• 8-10 x Push press (total 4 sets)
• 12 x Step-ups with dumbbells (total 4 sets)


Workout of the Day
For time: 
• Buy in: 50 x hand release push-ups 
Then 5 rounds for time: 
• 5 x dumbbell man-makers @ 45lb
• 10 x box jumps @ 30"
