Rafael Lovato Jr. Stays Unbeaten in 2016, Defends Legacy Middleweight Title
The hometown favorite Rafael Lovato Jr continued his hot streak on Friday night with an impressive arm bar finish of Cortez Coleman. The win improved Lovato's unbeaten record to 4-0 and became his first successful middleweight title defense. Lovato Jr won the vacant title back in April over Marcelo Nunes.

Fellow Oklahoma grappler Cortez Coleman was game to fight and at one point knocked the champion to the ground. But the relentless attack of Lovato Jr was just too much and eventually he found and armbar that forced the 'Crazy Cowboy' to tap, 4:04 into the round.

'The American' has had an incredible 2016, winning the Legacy belt back in March, winning double gold at the IBJJF Masters World Championships in September, Defeating Cyborg Abreu, Diego Gammaral, Steve Patterson, Tanner Rice and Ricardo Abreu all in professional super fights. He has three belts to his name this year alone.

Although Coleman proved to be a tough opponent, it is clear that Rafael Lovato Jr. is ready for a step up in MMA competition. Would you like to see the Ribeiro Bros black belt in the UFC? Or maybe Bellator?

Rafael's blackbelt and Fight to Win veteran Justin Rader also picked up a win with an impressive TKO in the first round.
