Jon Jones tapped Dan Henderson in the co-main matchup at Submission Underground 2 at Roseland Theater in Portland, Oregon, on Sunday.
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Jon Jones has still got it.
Taking on fellow MMA legend Dan Henderson at Submission Underground 2 (SUG 2) at Roseland Theater on Sunday, Jones reminded us what he can do inside the cage.
After spending some time on his feet and working in the clinch early, Jones blasted a beautiful takedown, planting the two-time Olympian Henderson on the mat. Once there, the book was written. Jones methodically worked his way into position to secure the fight-ending arm triangle choke at the 6:39 mark, capping a successful return to action for the former UFC light heavyweight champion.

Along the way, however, Jones showcased the traits that captivated the MMA world. Jones jokingly called Henderson to the ground. He mocked a spinning back elbow, and he escaped an armbar with a smile and a shrug.
In between, he thoroughly outgrappled one of the greatest fighters of all time.
It was a classic Jones performance, but then he offered something else: a callout in his post-fight speech.
Being interviewed by event promoter Chael Sonnen inside the cage, Jones was asked if he would come back Jan. 29 for Submission Underground 3. Jones said he would, then added a twist.
He said he'd come back--to face Sonnen himself. The two then shared a stare down, putting a perfect stamp on the event.
