Vinny Magalhaes vs Roberto 'Cyborg' Abreu To Meet In ADCC Trials Superfight
The first super fight has been made official for the upcoming ADCC West Coast trials on Saturday April 15, 2017 in Anaheim, California.

The 2011 ADCC champ Vinny Magalhaes will face the 2013 ADCC absolute champion Roberto 'Cyborg' Abreu in a special marquee match.

The two champion black belts have never met under ADCC rules before, but they have competed against each other a total of four times with the record being 2-2 thus far.

"One of them he was supposed to be DQd but he wasn't," says Cyborg. "He's an amazing fighter, great grappler, ADCC Champ. Its 2-2 me and him. The last time we fought was a long time ago but I look forward to fighting him again. Last time we fought I believe was 2010.

It will be amazing to fight him again and put on a show for everyone. I know how dangerous Vinny is, but I'm confident in my game and want this to lead into me winning the ADCC Absolute title once again.

"It's exciting to go against Cyborg again, it's been awhile since we've gone against each other. The last time we had a match neither Cyborg or I were ADCC Champions, and a lot of things have changed since," says Vinny.

If things stay like they were in the past it will either be Cyborg winning by advantage or me by submission, but one thing we know for sure it's that it will be a good match.
This is the first of two superfights that will take place as part of the upcoming ADCC West Coast trials.

Also, for the first time in ADCC trials history, the event will offer prize money for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finalists.

The Trials will also feature the women's divisions and is the final event for grapplers with North American passports to qualify for an invite to the 2017 ADCC World Championships set for Helsinki in Finland this September.
