The biggest jiu-jitsu tournament in the world returns in just three weeks, with incredible cash prizes and thousands of athletes from around the world. 

The 2017 edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship is an elite-level tournament running from April 18-22 that will take place as part of the larger Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Festival, a 13-day extravaganza featuring legends superfights, youth jiu-jitsu championships, parathletes, and military championships. 


What to expect 

If you've been following our coverage of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam World Jiu-Jitsu Tour and the International Pro tournament (trials), then you'll know that all roads lead to Abu Dhabi. 

The World titles, the generous cash prizes and the battle for the glory of being ranked the #1 player in the world, all come together to create a monumental occasion. 


Who's competing?

The biggest names in jiu-jitsu will arrive in Abu Dhabi soon for the World Pro, with defending champions Leandro Lo, Erberth Santos, Mackenzie Dern, Beatriz Mesquita, Marcio Gabriel Arges, Marcio Andre, Felipe Pena and more. 

With a total prize fund of over $750,000, matches of six minutes duration and heavy penalties for stalling, the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu almost guarantees excitement -- there's a lot on the line.
