Fight to Win Pro’s first show in Ohio is finally happening on Friday, April 21, and it features an intriguing clash of styles.

The main event of the evening will feature 2017 ADCC West Coast trials competitor John Combs, who trains out of Easton Training Center in Colorado, but is making his way back to his birthplace of Cleveland to compete in what will be his sixth Fight to Win event. Combs has made a name for himself as one of the newer black belts to watch out for --- he had an impressive run as a brown belt, winning Pans and the US National Pro.

Now that he’s moved higher up the ranks, he’s been put up against some of the biggest names in the sport, including Edwin Najmi and AJ Agazarm. Although he was submitted by DJ Jackson at Fight to Win Pro 18, he was victorious against Steve Patterson at Fight to Win Pro 26, and as he eyes Cleveland, he’s looking to turn that win into the beginning of a victory streak.

His opponent, Andris Brunovskis of Atos, also has history in Cleveland --- it’s where he started training jiu-jitsu in the first place. A black belt since 2014, he’s only lost twice by submission (to a triangle by Marcio Andre and a choke by Gabriel Rollo) since getting promoted. Although this is his first time competing at a Fight to Win Pro event, he has quite the history of submitting his opponents even at point-based tournaments, so there’s no question that he’ll be a worthy adversary for Combs.

The co-main event will feature Brasa’s Pablo Castro and New Breed’s Mark Vives. Before their match, we’ll also see seven additional black belt matches, nine brown belt matches, twelve purple belt matches, and one kids’ match.

Check out the full card here, and make sure you’re watching on Friday, April 21 at 6 pm EST to see all of these explosive fights go down live on FloGrappling!
