Joao Gabriel Talks Fighting The Best: 'I Want To Beat Lo, Buchecha, All The Best Guys'

Just one year removed from his devastating cancer diagnosis Joao Gabriel returned to the mats and took home bronze in his weight class at the 2016 IBJJF World Championships. Now with his health issues in the past the Soul Fighters Super Heavyweight has his sights set on double gold at the World Championships. And he doesn't want an easy route to get there.

With Six Months Sobriety, Nathan Mendelsohn Is The Best He's Ever Been

Nathan Mendelsohn has wanted to be an elite competitor ever since he was a kid attending local tournaments. Now at 27 years of age the Claudio Franca black belt is finally hitting his stride. After quitting drinking and refocusing his competition efforts Nate Mendelsohn is having a breakout year and hopes to parlay his recent success with a podium spot at the World Championships.

'Tank' Mendes: Our Goal Is To Be The #1 Team In The World

Quietly in Dallas Texas Bruno Mendes is building an elite team of black belt competitors from the ground up. Soul Fighters formed in 2009 with goals of becoming the biggest neighborhood team but now with a star studded roster that includes Joao Gabriel Rocha, Tanner Rice, Diogo Araujo and more the next stop is to become the most successful competition team in the world.

Brazilian Brown Belt Hugo Marques Is Ready To Claim World Gold

Hugo Marques won every competition he entered in 2016 except two, the IBJJF World Championship and the IBJJF No-Gi World Championships. This year however this are going to be different according to the standout brown belt. With his sights set on fighting the best of the best Marques is betting on himself to come home with gold.

Diogo Araujo Talks Competition Mindset And Putting It All Together

One of Soul Fighters original black belts Diogo Araujo has been training for over 20 years and competing at the elite ranks for seven years. After making it to the World Championship finals in 2012 Moreno is looking to reclaim his spot among the sports best after moving to Dallas and working fulltime with Bruno Mendes.
