Rising Star: Gracie Humaita Brown Belt Gabby McComb
The 2016 purple belt weight and absolute world champion has had a stellar year so far. The brown belt Pan champion is one of Leticia Ribeiro's standout students, and all signs point a podium finish this week at the 2017 World Championships.
Gabby McComb isn't just on on the rise: She's a star in the making.
The Gracie Humaita South Bay standout is the 2016 purple belt featherweight and absolute world champion and has had a stellar year so far. She took first at Pans (brown belt) and had a successful superfight showing at FIVE Grappling. Now, she's turning her attention to the IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu World Championship in Long Beach, CA, on June 1-4.
McComb's path to gold is far form easy, though. The female brown belt featherweight division is loaded with talent and includes the ultra-tough Amal Amjahid from Belgium and Alliance brown belt Mayra Mello, who trains under the legendary Fabio Gurgel.
We're looking forward to watching McComb's agressive, finishing style once again at the 2017 World Championships.
