KASAI Pro Is Coming: Tonon, Khera, And More In 8-Man GP
NEW YORK -- KASAI Elite Grappling Championships is assembling a red-hot roster with the announcement of two top signings in Garry Tonon and Mansher "Munch" Khera. 

Tonon and Khera are two of the confirmed names in KASAI's eight-man World Lightweight Championship tournament at KASAI Pro -- a professional grappling event scheduled Dec. 9 at Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse in Brooklyn, New York.

Joining them are no-gi standouts Gianni Grippo, AJ Agazarm and Celso Vinicius. Also featured is Edwin "Junny" Ocasio, a purple belt from Unity Jiu-Jitsu and winner of the recent KASAI Pro qualifier. 

"These two acclaimed martial artists represent an intense, compelling strain of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that we hope to present for a long time to come," KASAI President Rolles Gracie said. 

The competitors will fight in a round-robin format.

The rules

Matches use points but no advantages. 

Legal Techniques:
• Any kind of choke (except for using the hand to close the windpipe).
• Any armbar, shoulder lock, or wrist lock
• Any leg lock or ankle lock
• Slamming can be used only in order to prevent a submission. Otherwise is considered as illegal.

Group stage
Eight athletes will be divided in two groups of four and compete against each other once within their group, accumulating points based on the outcome of the match.

Three points for victory by submission, two points victory by points, and one point for draw. Winners of each group will advance for the championship match and athletes who came in second place in their groups will compete for third and fourth place.

Time limit:
Group stage: 6 minutes.
Final: 6 minutes + 2 minutes overtime (golden score or submission and then judges decision).
