Some big news in the 66kg and 77kg divisions for ADCC 2019, with Nicky Ryan and Garry Tonon on the move.

Ethan Crelinstein has pulled out of ADCC due to injury and there is a shake-up of the 66kg and 77kg divisions involving all members of the Renzo Gracie team. The end result is Nicky Ryan and Garry Tonon taking back their original spots in 66kg and 77kg.

Ryan was initially qualified for 66kg after winning the West Coast North American trials. Citing weight cut issues he then surprisingly switched to the 77kg division. Tonon was originally invited to 77 and pulled out to focus on his MMA career, but with no fights scheduled he appears free to compete in ADCC.

This movement should strengthen both divisions, with 66kg most likely being a better weight class for Nicky and three-time ADCC vet and 2017 fourth-place finisher jumping back in at 77kg. Ryan will also add depth to an injury and pull out depleted 66kg division.
