Kristian Woodmansee Talks Training With The Best Team In The World

Woodmansee: 'The Intensity Sets Atos Apart'

Although he is less than a year into his black belt career, Kristian Woodmansee is confident that the Atos academy has prepared him for any challenge -- even facing 11-time world champion Caio Terra in Fight to Win Pro 38's main event on Friday night in Sacramento, CA.

"Training here isn't really different in terms of what we learn," said Woodmansee, who earned his black belt under Andre Galvao. "It just feels like a Worlds training camp year round. It's intense, really hard. Andre expects a lot of us and pushes us hard. Some of the best guys in the world train here.

To be able to handle that and stay sharp all year round it gives you a kind of 'spidey-sense' when you compete because everyone is slower.
Woodmansee received his black belt last December and has been more focused on his budding MMA career than jiu-jitsu. But finding fights for the accomplished grappler has proved to be difficult, and while waiting on his next in cage experience Woodmansee will make his return to gi jiu-jitsu.

The Dream Killer will be taking on Terra for the 135lb Fight to Win title -- a big opportunity for the young black belt.

Everybody is such a high caliber athlete anyway, but when you put all these guys in one room, every single day it's gonna get crazy. It's not really a secret but that's the key here at Atos.
