Yuri Simoes & Dean Lister Get Into Heated Altercation At F2WP8 Weigh Ins

Simoes & Lister Altercation; 'Wanna Fight?'

On Friday night in San Francisco Dean Lister and Yuri Simoes faced off for their upcoming super fight at Fight to Win Pro 8. After a miscommunication between Lister and promoter Seth Daniels led to the Boogeyman's late arrival, his opponent Yuri Simoes was not happy. The two had a bit of an altercation and had to be separated on more than one occasion.

The bad blood stems originally from the two's first meeting back at ADCC 2015. Originally the referee of the match declared Dean Lister the winner but after conferring with the mat side judges it was determined the bout was a draw and went into overtime. Yuri ended up winning the match and going on to win the whole tournament in spectacular fashion. But Dean was not satisfied with the outcome and had this to say.

I beat him in ADCC, got my hand raised, then the judges suddenly claimed there were negative points and made us have overtime. It's the only match in my life where I feel I was truly ripped off by the judges.
Yuri rebuffed the claims of controversy and stuck by his win and the judges decision.

In that match I passed his guard two or three times, I got his back, I took him down. I really don't know why he''s complaining. He did nothing. I had a lot of respect for Dean but when he said that, it really pissed me off you know? I didn't expect it from him. We'll see who wins this weekend, I'm looking forward to that. I trained really hard and we'll see what's up.
Of course after the two traded barbs online, a powder keg erupted as soon as Lister walked through the door in San Francisco. Arguments broke out and eventually Yuri challenged the Pride veteran to an MMA fight. One thing for sure is that the grappling match tonight will be pure fireworks.

Tune in tonight to see Dean Lister take on Yuri Simoes in the main event of Fight to Win Pro 8! Plus Garry Tonon, Bill Cooper, Baret Yoshida, & More!
