The Polaris Professional Jiu-Jitsu Invitational is fast approaching Sept. 12, and the interest level is reaching a crescendo, in part due to the back-and-forth between two competitors.

In the sixth of eight marquee fights this Saturday, Daniel Strauss, a.k.a. The Raspberry Ape, faces BJJ black belt AJ Agazarm in a catchweight no gi matchup. Like all bouts at Polaris Pro 2, no points will be awarded. The only way to win is by submission. The fights last up to 15 minutes.

In a profile on Strauss, the bulky Brit, who trains in London at Mill Hill BJJ, took issue with Agazarm's antics during last year's Polaris match against Oli Geddes.

In the fight, Agazarm was criticized for taking down Geddes after a fist bump (1:57 mark of this clip) and for removing his mouth piece nonchalantly before submitting Geddes (11:13 mark of this clip).

"As far as I'm concerned, nobody takes the piss out of Oli Geddes, and gets away with it in my books," Strauss said in the video at the 4:00 mark. "As soon as (AJ) mocked the nicest man in Jiu-Jitsu, it became personal. So this is part my fight, but also I feel that I have Oli's spirit inside of me when I go fight AJ as well. So he's actually fighting two people."

Agazarm didn't wait long to fire back on Facebook and Instagram (see below). Notice Strauss' comment on Agazarm's Instagram post next to the handle @raspberry_ape.
