Weekend Recap: Masters Worlds Matches Plus Gordon Ryan's Killer Younger Bro
The main stories from the weekend all came from the IBJJF Masters Worlds, which featured the very best veteran competitors (over 30yo) and reminded us that jiu-jitsu really is something you can do for your whole life!

And the other end of the scale, a young prospect gave another impressive performance that hints at future greatness.

Gordon Ryan's Younger Brother Nicky Ryan Wins EBI Rules Superfight

Black belt Gordon Ryan isn't the only young jiu-jitsu phenom in his family. His 15-year-old brother Nicky has been gradually making a name for himself with a similar submission-orientated style that just saw him win a superfight in California.

The younger Ryan flew to Gracie Nationals in LA and met 10th Planet up-and-comer Derek Rayfield in a superfight held under EBI rules.

As John Danaher -- one of Ryan's principal coaches and a man evidently responsible for the youngster's technical growth -- explains, Ryan originally planned to compete alongside adult black belts but accepted Eddie Bravo's offer of the special challenge.

You can see the result in the match video below:
