All Roads Lead To World Pro Part 4: Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Retrospective
The fourth stop on the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam World Jiu-Jitsu Tour saw the event pay a visit to the same arena used in the World Professional Championships.

The IPIC Arena in Abu Dhabi hosted the event on January 14 and drew winners from the Tokyo and Rio Grand Slam events as well as a host of other athletes looking for gold and the all-important ranking points.

Big winners included Marcio Andre, victorious after moving up to the 77kg division. He beat 2016 World Pro silver medalist Roberto Satoshi in the final.

Beatriz Mesquita continued her success from Rio and took gold in her second consecutive Grand Slam event. The 2016 world champion beat Luiza Monteiro in the 60kg female brown-black division.

And Gabriel Arges erased the bad taste of being disqualified at the Rio Grand Slam by submitting Matheus Spirandelli in the 85kg final. Interestingly, Arges had been DQ'd for a leg reap against Manuel Ribamar, one of Spirandelli's teammates from Leandro Lo's NS Brother gym.

Notable moments from the event included:
• Jose Junior took gold in the 110kg division, winning valuable points for the ranking
• Isaque Paiva winning 69kg gold, repeating his feat from Rio Grand Slam two months earlier
• The return of Pablo Popovitch, taking silver in no-gi 92kg division
• Faisal Al Ketbi winning his second gold medal at a no-gi Grand Slam event
