Weekend Recap: Keenan Does Double In Seattle, Fights Teammate
Want to know what's going on in the jiu-jitsu world? Then catch up with our essential weekend recap.

Keenan keeps rolling on

Following wins in Las Vegas and Boston, Keenan Cornelius followed up with another double gold performance at the Seattle International Open on Saturday. The Atos black belt won both the heavy and absolute divisions and ended up facing his teammate Josh Hinger in the final.

Check out this clip of Cornelius vs. Horlando Monteiro in the absolute division:

Like Keenan said on Instagram a few weeks back, "We casually go to tournaments only to end up beating everyone else then having to fight each other. It's almost like we should just stay in the gym and keep training. That's just the nature of training with the best."

Hinger aiming for a huge end of year goal

nullJosh Hinger has plans to end the year with more gold medals and more submission finishes than any other IBJJF competitor. It's a tough challenge, but he's one step closer after Seattle. He's got the Chicago Open next week, too.

Teen sensation Murasaki steamrolls in Japan

Caio Terra blue belt and juvenile IBJJF world champion Andy Murasaki is only 17 years old but fought in the adult blue belt lightweight division (76kg / 167lb) AND the absolute at the All Japan Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Tokyo on Sunday, winning gold in both.

With eight matches, Murasaki collected seven wins by submission and didn't get a single point or advantage scored on him in the process!

This is actually a repeat performance for the talented youngster, who won double gold at this tournament when he was still only 15!
