As the Houston area continues to experience record levels of flooding and devastation due to the remnants of Hurricane Harvey, thousands of people are being thrust into sudden homelessness, losing their possessions and any sense of certainty about their future.

Fight To Win Pro CEO Seth Daniels himself is from nearby Katy, Texas, and since he has multiple crew members and many, many friends who are from the affected areas, the disaster unfolding there hits close to home.

"I can't get any work done because all I see on my Facebook homepage are these posts and photos of people's lives getting messed up," he said.

Daniels felt like he had to do something to help, so he did.

In a Facebook post, he announced that all profits from Fight To Win Pro 46 and the Texas Open in San Antonio on Sept. 9 and Fight To Win Pro 47 in Houston on Sept. 15 would be donated to help people in the jiu-jitsu community who have been affected by the natural disaster.

Daniels went on to write that anyone who has a student, teammate, or academy that needs help rebuilding due to the storm should message him personally.

"Once people contact me, I'll give them suggestions on how I think they can get extra donations, too," he wrote. "I feel like I can make a small bit of difference by doing all this."

Once the contributing events have concluded, the money will be split between the individuals in need. Daniels has also set up a donation page for anyone who can't make it to the events and would like to contribute to helping members of the Houston-area jiu-jitsu community rebuild their lives.

As someone who's helped raise money for numerous charities in the past, he's well aware that even when things seem bleak, a large number of people donating just a few dollars can make a huge impact.
