Chael Sonnen was awarded his brown belt from Gracie Barra instructor Fabiano Scherner last night in Portland, Oregon.

The American gangster is fresh off a big win over BJJ legend Leo Vieira at ADCC and has been seen putting in plenty of work on the mats. Sonnen had this to say about the experience:

Couldn't have happened to a better guy. Chasing those belts is a long, hard road. One more to go.
