ADCC Turns 20 Years Old, Continues Its Search For The Best
Simple questions can sometimes lead to audacious and spectacular endeavors, and the creation of ADCC is no different.
Simple questions can sometimes lead to audacious and spectacular endeavors, and the creation of ADCC is no different.
Twenty years ago today, ADCC was born, asked with the "simple" task of finding the VERY best grappler in the world, regardless of discipline, location, and rank. In the ensuing years, the event has produced legends such as Marcelo Garcia, Andre Galvao, and Buchecha and Royler, Kyra, and Roger Gracie… and the list goes on.
It was our absolute pleasure to provide live coverage of the most recent installment of ADCCs—the 2017 World Championships. We witnessed historic moments, such as Gordon Ryan solidifying his position as one of America’s greatest submission artists and Renzo Gracie returning to battle, and incredible feats and bouts were seen all weekend long in Espoo, Finland.
As a tribute to two decades of excellence, we’ve unlocked FOUR of our favorite matches from the 2017 World Championships.
Xande Ribeiro vs. Rustam Chsiev
Beatriz Mesquita vs. Ffon Davies
Cobrinha vs. Kuba Witkowski
Jake Shields vs. Abdurakhman Bilarov
