BREAKING: Cobrinha Out Of ADCC 2019; Kennedy, Ruotolo, & Alarcon In

As we approach critical mass for adequate training, the 66kg division at ADCC continues to reveal unexpected and intriguing exciting developments.

Last week we announced that both AJ Agazarm and Mikey Musumeci will not be making appearances at the ADCC 2019 World Championships, and today we just received word that the returning 66kg Champion Rubens 'Cobrinha' Charles is also out!

The stunning revelation left three spots available, but ADCC wasted no time in getting them filled with three-game competitors: Richard Alarcon, Tye Ruotolo, and Kennedy Maciel – Cobrinha's very own son!

For those unfamiliar, Richard Alarcon is a veteran grappler who has just begun to hit his stride on the professional scene – he's the ADCC 2019 West Coast Trials Bronze medalist and KASAI Challenger Champion (you can see him in action coming August 17 at KASAI Pro 6.  (He also picked up a win against Ruotolo on his way to that Bronze medal.)

For his part, along with his brother Kade, Tye Ruotolo has been one of the hottest prospects in jiu-jitsu. At just 16 years of age, Tye is the youngest competitor set to compete at ADCC this year.

Kennedy Maciel is the most established competitors of the recent three announced to this years ADCC, a No-Gi World Champion, and son/student of one the very best to ever do it, we're very curious to see how the event pans out.
