Purple belt Joao Ribeiro was the only US representative to take first place in any adult division of this year’s 13th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championships. The 120 kg champion of GF Team, Ribeiro won five matches — including two submission victories — on his road to gold.

The 13th Edition of the Abu Dhabi World Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championships came to a close this morning in Abu Dhabi. Eleven of the 12 titlists were Brazilians, including several newly-crowned champions.

After an intense round of country qualifiers yesterday at the 13th Edition of the Abu Dhabi World Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championships, the main brackets kicked off today. Some of the best competitors from all around the globe took the stage for a shot at World Pro gold, and thousands of dollars in prizes.

Yuri Simoes relied on his superior guard passing to win the eight-man grand prix at Raw Grappling Championships on Sunday, November 14. Simoes defeated Patrick Gaudio in the final via referee decision after an indecisive 12-minute submission only period followed by a scoreless two-minute overtime.

The 13th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Pro kicks off on Sunday, November 14 in the UAE. A truly international event with significant cash prizes at stake, the World Pro attracts decorated veterans and hopeful up and comers from across the globe. The title of World Pro Champion is one of the most coveted in all of jiu-jitsu; it’s accompanied by prestige, national pride, and thousands of dollars in prize money.

With two no-gi superfights featuring high caliber talent, and an eight-man bracket including multiple ADCC medalists, Raw Grappling Championships is sure to deliver.

The 14th edition of the IBJJF No-Gi World Championships is wrapped up. Now it’s time to open up the history books to make note of the athletes, teams and nationalities who left the tournament with the greatest accolades.

The rosters for the 2021 IBJJF Pan Championship are stacked with returning champions, fan favorites, and rookies looking to break out. If you tuned into Fight to Win 166 on Saturday evening you would have seen four badass black belt matches back to back. Nothing new for Fight to Win, who consistently make competitive and entertaining matches, but this particular event stood out for one big reason. 

Jon “Thor” Blank attacked [person: Vagner Rocha] with a barrage of leg lock attempts at Who’s Number One: Duarte vs Vieira. For the most part, Rocha kept out of danger through the 15-minute match.

Grapplefest 8 goes down on Saturday, February 29, in Liverpool, UK. Now established as one of Europe’s premier professional grappling shows, they’re bringing international names to the UK including Dante Leon, the Ruotolo brothers, Adam Wardzinski, and Jon Blank.
