Elisabeth Clay is a black belt competitor representing Ares BJJ. Born on June 10, 2000 in Katy, TX, Clay won the 2017 ADCC Trials as a 16-year-old blue belt although an injury forced her out of the World Championships. Coached by Samir Chantre and Osvaldo "Queixinho" Moizinho, Clay competes both gi and no-gi and is known for her fearsome leg attacks.

    The first event of it's kind, FloGrappling's Road To ADCC is underway. ADCC champions, veterans and hopeful invitees will square off in six matches under the ADCC-finals ruleset. In the main event, the 2019 ADCC 88 kg champion, Matheus Diniz, will fight up in weight to take on the 2019 99+ kg champion, Kaynan Duarte. Duarte weighted in at 101.2 kg, which could be a significant advantage against Diniz, who weighted in at 93.4 kg. But Diniz is a master strategist in the ADCC ruleset, and has an opportunity to prove that again here.

    Nobody could have predicted the end of the no-gi match between Lucas "Hulk" Barbosa and Matheus Diniz at BJJ Stars VI. A candidate for the most surprising, complicated and controversial finish to a grappling match in living memory, Diniz put Barbosa to sleep with a choke but it was deemed to have been applied after time had run out. Below, I’ll attempt to clarify what happened and you can even see my analysis of the video to determine whether the choke was legit or not.
