FloGrappling's Official No-Gi Rankings
Men's 170lb No-Gi Rankings
We are considering all tournaments that occur close enough to 170lbs/77kg to be relevant. If another grappler moved down from another weight, for example Hulk Barbosa, they won't be ranked here until they commit to the division for more than one event.
After a pair of crazy brackets, the top three here actually remains unchanged. The next three were hard to place, though. Even though Dante beat Mica, he did lose to Elijah first round of his division. I think it's fair for the absolute result to be reflected more in the pound-for-pound ranking and the divisional result to be reflected more in the weight. With that in mind, I put Dante sixth.
I went with PJ over Vagner because they both lost to Mica, medaled, and PJ has a stronger resume at 170lbs over the last few years. He also had a razor-close match with Mica, where Vagner got submitted in the finals (in a great run to silver).
Levi had a great weekend with a ton of quality wins that will cement him in the top-ten, but he did recently lose head to head against Szczecinski (who lost at ADCC to Barch after submitting Garry Tonon) in a super-fight. So, I kept Matheusz ahead of him. Levi beat Jozef at Polaris, and Jozef beat Elijah at WNO so I think that order makes sense - even though Elijah had an incredible ADCC beating Dante & JT. A few more quality wins and he can rise quickly.
JT Torres is back into the rankings after another trip to the ADCC quarterfinals, his fourth in a row, though he then fell to Elijah.
