Leandro Lo Stumbles In Submission-Only Debut

A lot of hype was built up around the submission only debut of Leandro Lo at the Five Grappling Light-Heavyweight Invitational. The accomplished black belt has won just about every major points tournament there is, Copa Podio, IBJJF World Championships & UAEJJF World Pro. So understandably everyone was fired up to see what kind of game he'd play with the different ruleset.

However things didn't seem to go as planned.

Lo was matched up with fellow World Champion Tarsis Humpheys in the opening round and was never able to get his game going. Humpheys applied pressure from the opening bell and never let Lo get on the offensive. In result Lo received his first lost since the UAEJJF World Pro last year.

The Ns Brotherhood leader will look to rebound this weekend at the 2017 IBJJF Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championships. He's signed up in the heavyweight division and will undoubtably be contending for the open class title as well.
