The sport of Brazilian jiu-jitsu will have a new elite, and annual, event that showcases some of the best champions and BJJ black belts in the world this November.

The IBJJF will debut its new premium competition, “The Crown,” this November in California as the event features champions like Gabi Pessanha and Tainan Dalpra. The event is presented by FloGrappling.

The Crown will be an annual event and will feature four grapplers competing in six weight classes, including two women's weight classes. According to FloGrappling's Joe Gilpin, the event "aims to elevate athletes to a new level of prestige and honor in BJJ. Both accomplishments and excitement were taken into consideration for who was invited to participate."
