Garry out-decisions Dillon

There were three Danaher Death Squad members in action over the weekend, with two competing at Polaris 5 in London.

Garry Tonon faced Dillon Danis in a 15-minute sub-only affair, while Oliver Taza (who has qualified for ADCC) also grappled his opponent, British black belt Ross Nichols, to a decision.

Tonon's relentless trolling of Danis threatened to make the match a heated affair, and Tonon even mimicked Dillon's pal Conor McGregor with the Irishman's famous post-match words, "I apologize for absolutely nothing!"

For his part, Danis remained composed throughout the match and even congratulated Tonon for his win by saying, "He beat me fair and square and that's it. He's a really good grappler, and he did what he had to do."

Gordon cleans up no-gi in NYC

While Tonon and Taza were busy in the UK, Gordon Ryan was back home in New York cleaning up in a local no-gi tourney. He submitted everybody en route to taking gold, most notably Devhonte Johnson in the final.

We saw a lot more of Ryan's top game in his three matches, which you can see below. Apologies for the poor quality.

Atos up-and-comer continues to shine

As the world champ and one of the standout winners from the Royal tournament, Atos purple belt Jonatha Alves is a huge talent who comes with glowing praise from the normally reserved Gui Mendes.

Alves was in Japan last week for the Copa Bullterrier 2017 tournament, and he racked up a couple of impressive submission wins, including over the very tough Japanese-Brazilian IBJJF 2017 world champ Igor Tanabe.

Celso Vinicius invited to ADCC

Following the withdrawal of Gabriel Arges, the number of competitors in the ADCC -77kg division fell to only 13. It's recently gained a name though, with the invitation of Celso Vinicius.

The former world champion is known primarily for his exploits in the gi but has an MMA record of 5-1, so he's no slouch when it comes to no-gi.
