Kade Ruotolo defeated Tommy Langaker to retain the ONE Fighting Championship Lightweight Submission Grappling World Championship on June 9th, with the judges favoring his top work and aggression in the 10-minute unanimous decision victory to defend his 170lb. title.

Tye used an early lateral drop to get top position, but Langaker countered with an outside heel hook attempt that earned him an advantage. Kade brought consistent passing pressure and leg lock threats while Tommy continued hunting ashi entries from bottom position, with Tye eventually finding a match-tying advantage with an estima lock from top. Tommy and Kade continued to trade back take and leg lock attempts for the remainder of the match, but neither man was ultimately able to secure dominant position.

Kade now moves to 4-0 with ONE Fighting Championship, with two successful defenses of the belt to his credit. The 2022 ADCC World Champion and WNO Champion pushed his record to 19 straight victories at black belt, with two straight decisions in his last two fights. The Atos fighter said after the match that he wants to fight in MMA by the end of the year.

Tommy is now 2-1 with the Singapore-based promotion, having earned his first title shot with a heel hook win in his last outing. The Norwegian grappler is an ADCC European Trials champion, an IBJJF World silver and bronze medalist, and an IBJJF European Open champion at black belt while representing Wulfing Academy.
