Approaching the one-year mark since the violent killing of Leandro Lo, the long awaited trial of the accused killer is now set to begin.
The crime took place during a pagode show at Clube Sírio in the early hours of August 7, 2022 in São Paulo.
The court’s decision is subject to appeal with the São Paulo Court of Justice. The military police officer, who surrendered on the night of Lo's murder, remains detained at the Romão Gomes military prison. Earlier this year, the court granted Velozo permission to continue receiving his government salary while standing trial.
