Conor McGregor Promoted To Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt
Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor was promoted in rank to Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt by his long-time coach John Kavanaugh.
UFC star Conor McGregor was promoted in rank to Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt by his coach John Kavanaugh yesterday, after over a decade of training in mixed martial arts. The former two-division World Champion is known for his explosive striking ability and big personality, but its his skills on the mat that have earned him the honor of black belt.
The SBG Ireland-representative posted about the promotion last night, citing his '20 years of hard work' to accomplish this goal.
McGregor has been out of action since breaking his leg while fighting Dustin Poirier in 2021. The former champion has been linked to a possible fight against Michael Chandler later this year, but those reports remain unofficial.
