Heavyweight Division Set For IBJJF's The Crown With Andrew, Batista, & More

The IBJJF will be holding their inaugural premier tournament 'The Crown' this November, and divisions continue to fill up with invited athletes. The IBJJF is filling these brackets with black belts that have had success in the recent competition calendar, and who have succeeded with an exciting, fan-friendly style. With only six divisions being contested, we know all four competitors in the first men's heavyweight bracket, worth $15,000 in prize money to the champion.

They will be:

  • Fellipe Andrew, 2023 IBJJF World Champion, 4-time Pans Champion
  • Gustavo Batista, 3-Time IBJJF World Champion, 4-time Pan Champion
  • Francisco Lo, 2023 No-Gi Pan Champion
  • Uanderson Ferreira, 2023 IBJJF Sul Americano Champion

One of these athletes will win this prestigious division and cement themselves as one of the top gi athletes on Earth. With two reigning World Champions in the mix, and two of the most athletic black belts on Earth in Lo & Ferreira, this division brings a lot of promise of action and excitement.

What Is The Crown?

IBJJF's The Crown, presented by FloGrappling, will feature four male and two female divisions, each with $15,000 on the line and the ultimate bragging rights. The winner of each division is, without a doubt, the best of the best.

In total, the federation will award $120,000 in prizes to the winners, a record for the organization's single-event prize allotment. An event of this magnitude can only take place in the mecca of jiu-jitsu, the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, CA, on Nov. 19, only on FloGrappling.
