What's Happening In Jiu-Jitsu

-Felipe Costa joined the official entrants for the WNO 30 Open Weight Grand Prix. Laranjinha is an ADCC World Medalist who has had success in every style and ruleset he's ever competed in. Read more here.

-Registration finally closed for IBJJF No-Gi Pans. See all the most notable black belts here. Brackets drop later this week, with action kicking off on Friday.

-Invitations for the IBJJF's most prestigious annual tournament, The Crown, began to roll out. João Bisnaga, Leo Ferreira, and Bia Basilio are the first three in. Keep track of entrants here.

-Main Character Jiu-Jitsu 8 has announced a few of their matches for the next show, including a 3 vs 3 women's tournament. The favorites coming in will likely be Team Texas with Trinity Pun, Taylor Hishaw, and Lauren Sears, but there's 4 tough teams signed up.

-Quintet announced the first two squads for their next event, Team Sakuraba and Team Renzo Gracie. Most notable names include Haisam Rida, Igor Tanabe, and Neiman Gracie.

-Invitations have begun going out for the ADCC Youth Worlds in 2026. WNO veteran Joslyn Molina was among the first athletes invited.

-Top-ranked Helena Crevar won the Pit Fighting Championship 155lb title on Saturday with a rear triangle.

-IBJJF Open Round Up:

• Giovana Carniero and Victor Hugo Nascimento won double gold in Manaus at black belt, winning 4 and 7 matches respectively.
• Gold medalists at the San Antonio Open included world medalists Yan Pica-Pau and Manuel Ribamar.
• Guiliano Spera beat Karl Pegers in the lightweight and open class finals for double gold in Turin.

-IBJJF World finalist Roberto Satoshi won again in MMA, submitting striker Yoshinori Horie at RIZIN 51 with a standing rear naked choke.

-UK-based Grapplefest announced the lineup for their next show, happening October 11th in Liverpool. The main event is going to be Adele Fornarino vs Julia Maele for the featherweight title. PSF reps feature heavily on the card, including Michael Pixley, Jacob Couch, Max Hanson, Brandon Reed, and more.

-PBJJF Worlds will be in Maryland on October 25-26th, with over $10,000 in prize money available for top competitors.

-After winning 5 straight matches at a Squads event, Margot Ciccarelli has earned a title shot in Polaris against Ffion Davies. This will be Davies's final Polaris match, then she becomes exclusive to UFC BJJ.

What's Coming Up In BJJ

• October 2nd: UFC BJJ 3 goes down in the pit in Las Vegas, NV, featuring promotional champ MIkey Musumeci facing Keven Carrasco and 155lb champ Carlos Henrique facing Matheus Gabriel.
• October 3rd: IBJJF No-Gi Pans is happening, one of the no-gi majors, and it returns to New York City after a 5-6 year hiatus. Stars like Helena Crevar, Sarah Galvão and Dante Leon are locked in for the event.
• October 19th: Main Character Jiu-jitsu returns to Miami. These guys always deliver on a wild night of grappling, if you haven't seen the show yet check it out.
• WNO 24th: WNO makes its Pittsburgh debut! We will feature an eight-man open weight bracket with a big cash prize, and a few other key no-gi super fights.
