Andressa Simas Proved She Is A Top Prospect To Watch At No-Gi Pans
Andressa Simas had one of the best subs of No-Gi Pans. But behind that moment is a story of a rising competitor making her mark on the international stage.

Atos purple belt Andressa Simas just delivered one of the most talked-about submissions of the 2025 No-Gi Pan Championship — a flying armbar straight out of a highlight reel. But behind that moment is a story of a rising competitor making her mark on the international stage.
When Andressa Simas launched into that flying armbar in the finals of the 2025 IBJJF No-Gi Pan Championship, it didn’t just end her match — it announced her arrival.
Four matches. Four wins. One highlight that ignited the crowd.
Her finish in the finals was straight out of the Davi Ramos playbook and instantly became one of the standout moments of the weekend. But if you’ve been paying attention to the Atos Dream Team lately, it wasn’t a surprise. Simas has been quietly becoming one of the most dangerous colored belt prospects on the international competition circuit.
From Dream Team Lab to Global Stage
Atos HQ in San Diego has been the pinnacle of modern jiu-jitsu for a while — world champs, black belts, and killers from every belt color and country come together to form one of the most dominant teams on the planet.
That’s where Simas lives and trains. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, she’s been training full-time with the Atos Dream Team, building herself into one of the standout purple belts in the world, and representing the up-and-coming female squad on the biggest stages. Her style — fast, fearless, and constantly evolving — fits right in with the next wave of Atos prospects making noise on the global scene.
She’s competed in Brazil, the US, and across major IBJJF events, putting together the kind of international résumé that separates competitors who train hard from those who show up when it matters.
The Run at No-Gi Pans
Simas’ run through the No-Gi Pan bracket showcased her ability to score early and apply constant pressure to her opponents.. Throughout her run, she capitalized on takedowns in the beginning of the match to get up on the scoreboard early and then we primarily saw her passing and top pressure game to control and wilt her opponents over time.

She outscored her opponents 22-4 on her four match run through the IBJJF No-Gi Pan Championship.
Then came the final.
In the first minute of the match Simas stayed true to what we have seen from her throughout her entire run. She lands a big takedown to get things started and we saw her go up 2-0 on the scoreboard and take top position. From there her opponent Vanessa Comeau showcased a very impressive guard and launched many attacks of her own. This ultimately led to Vanessa attacking a straight ankle lock that led to Simas going out of bounds and brought the score tied to 2-2.
Around the 3 minute mark in the match, Simas hit her second takedown of the match to go up 4-2 on the score and regain the top position that has brought her so much success to this point in the bracket. This time, she opted for the flashy over the fundamental and landed one of the best submissions of the tournament.
Simas found herself in a seated vs standing situation and used the position to launch into a flying armbar that hit perfectly. The crowd popped. Her teammates went wild. It was the kind of finish that lives in highlight reels and reminds you that boldness wins championships.

A New Name to Know
Andressa Simas continues to prove that she is one of the brightest prospects to watch in the colored belt ranks. With her dedication to proving she belongs on the international circuit time and time again plus the support behind her with the Atos Dream Team, she is certainly primed to keep putting together more performances just like this.
Her flying armbar might’ve been the spark, but this is just the beginning.
