What's Happening In Jiu-Jitsu
-WNO 30 went down over the weekend, with Declan Moody capturing the Open Weight Championship after three wins. Also on the card, we had Sarah Galvao winning by submission and Gavin Corbe winning an upset decision. Watch more here from the event.
-Luke Griffith and Felipe Pena will face off at WNO 31 for the WNO Heavyweight Championship. They were originally scheduled to face off at WNO 28 before Pena had to postpone with a knee injury.
-Mackenzie Dern won the UFC Strawweight Championship at UFC 321 by unanimous decision. She becomes the first woman to ever win an IBJJF Black Belt World Championship, ADCC World Championship, & UFC title. Mackenzie had Atos's Angelica Galvão in her corner and dedicated the win to her daughter.
-The Crown continued adding elite athletes to this November's annual event, including Janaina Lebre, Kennedy Maciel, Gustavo Batista, and more.
-IBJJF Round Up
- Adele Fornarino won quadruple gold at the IBJJF Pan Pacific Championships, winning gold in gi and no-gi, weight and absolute.
- Uanderson Ferreira won double gold in the gi at the Pan Pacific Championships. Other champions included Uros Culic, Mikhail Rhaillander, and Ariel Tabak.
- Raul Basilio, brother of Bia Basilio, won gold at the IBJJF OC Open, beating world finalist Nolan Stuart in the finals. Zach Kaina also won, beating Leo Vilela.
- Atos's Adrian Roberto won brown belt double gold at the OC Open, beating middleweight gold medalist Tarcisio Santos in the open class finals. 2025 world purple belt open class champion Felipe Goulart won brown belt feather. At purple belt, Atos's Andressa Simas won double gold with first place in the open and lightweight.
-Kingsway dominated at Enigma 27, with Abe La Montagne and Hannah Griffith winning the absolute tournaments and Team Kingsway winning the Quintet-style tournament (beating Adamas in the finals).
-Team Nogueira won the Quintet event in Dubai, winning 2-1 in a modified rules format. Iranian heavyweight Pouya Rahmani scored a submission by kimura in the final match to secure the team trophy.
-UFC BJJ Champion Carlos Henrique won his amateur MMA debut by TKO at Fury Fighting Amateur Series.
-IBJJF World Champion Renato Canuto moved to 2-0 in MMA with another first round TKO at Tuff N Uff 149.
-Thug Trials 2 will feature the no-gi super fight of Helena Crevar vs Jasmine Rocha, with Keith Krikorian also in action.
-Simple Man's Ally Wolski won the Warehouse BJJ tournament, taking home the cash prize.
What's Coming Up In BJJ
- Polaris 34: November 1st, Team Europe takes on Team Asia & Oceania, with Helena Crevar facing off with Sula-Mae Loewenthal. Ffion Davies wil also face Margot Ciccarelli in her final Polaris bout.
- IBJJF No-Gi Euros: Oct 29-Nov 1, with tons of great divisions going down in Rome. This tournament has evolved into one of the best in no-gi.
- ADCC East Coast Trials: November 15-16th, five more tickets get punched to ADCC Worlds with the best from North America coming together for one of the best tournaments of the year.
- BJJ Stars 18: Another big card live from SP on November 22nd, with Yatan Bueno vs Roosevelt Sousa, Oliver Taza vs Fabricio Andrey, Owen Jones vs Meyram Maquine, and more
- IBJJF's The Crown: The IBJJF's biggest invitational event of the year returns again, with six divisions of the best going at it in the Anaheim Pyramid on November 23rd.
- WNO 31: December 5th in Austin, TX, we decide the new heavyweight champion with a major main event match between Luke Griffith and Felipe Pena.
