What's Happening In Jiu-Jitsu
-ADCC East Coast Trials went down, with the five more qualifying for the World Championships. It was an incredible tournament in Orlando, FL, with hundreds of competitors in action. You can find all the matches on FloGrappling now, with more coverage to come on The FloGrappling Show episode dropping Tuesday. Champions of the event are: Dorian Olivarez, Jacob Bornemann, Jon Blank, Achilles Rocha, Brandon Reed, Ana Mayordomo, Mo Black, and Maia Matalon.
-Also of note, Joslyn Molina made history by becoming the youngest competitor and medalist ever at an ADCC Trials - only 13 she was able to capture bronze in the +65kg division.
-Rafael Lovato Jr. defeated Giancarlo Bodoni at ONE 173 by decision, using a deep omoplata along the way to getting the win. Rafael continues to add to his legendary resume with more wins in major organizations against elite competitors, this time another top pound-for-pound talent in Bodoni. Also at ONE 173, Tye Ruotolo won his second pro MMA fight with another rear naked choke.
-WNO will feature two more matches on the main card, with ADCC medalist Felipe 'Laranjinha' Costa facing Abe La Montagne & Dante Leon facing Andy Murasaki. It all goes down December 5th in Round Rock, TX.
-The MP officer who killed Leandro Lo in 2022 was found not guilty of murder. There is more information available here from G1. Leandro was an 8-time IBJJF World Champion and icon of the sport who continues to inspire students of jiu-jitsu worldwide.
-ADXC 11 went down, with Gabriel Sousa defeating Ruan Alvarenga by submission in the main event. Also on the card, women's pound-for-pound #1 Helena Crevar and top youth prospect Daniel '220' Barbosa were both successful.
-Alan Sanchez won the EBI 26 combat jiu-jitsu tournament with four submissions, three in regulation, at 170lbs.
