The road to the 2026 ADCC World Championships begins in Belgrade as five men and three women are punching their ticket for the World Championships! The 2026 ADCC European Trials are going down with the top grapplers from the region all descending for their chance at the life changing opportunity of qualifying for Worlds.

Live Updates

Most recent results are at the top. Early rounds we will mostly cover upsets and wins by the most notable names, since so much is going on. Once things get down to the top-16's we will list every match.

Finals

  • Men's -66kg - Yigit Hanay def. Kostiantyn Zhyvanov by points

We begin our finals at -66kg with Yigit and Kostiantyn. Kostiantyn wrestles up to a rear body lock but Yigit escapes. Yigit uses a crackdown position to work on a back take, Kostiantyn defending and escaping but finally when he rolls, Yigit collects mount. Time expires and Yigit Hanay wins Trials!

  • Women's -55kg - Janette Gloger def Ana Mayordomo by rear naked choke

Our first women's regional qualification for the season on the line here. Janette grabs a leg so Ana is able to pull and start playing guard. She's looking to attack legs, Janette floating on top. Ana finally able to sit Janette down in 50/50. Janette clears her leg and gets deep on a pass! Ana works hard to turtle. She rolls back to guard and Janette passes again and throws in a rear naked choke as Ana turtles - she gets the tap and punches her ticket to Worlds! Major upset.

  • Women's -65kg - Injana Goodman def. Ane Svendsen by points 3-0

We're right into the next final here. Ane and Injana are up. Injana uses a body lock to get on top and she's smashing the guard with her knee. She passes but before the points section. She uses a gift wrap to take the back though! She does score that, up 3-0 now. Ane will spend the last few minutes trying to pry Injana off but it's not enough. Goodman sweeps the Euro Trials this season.

  • Men's -77kg - Nikolay Vetrov def. Taylor Pearman by penalty

Taylor comes out and lets himself get pushed over so he can begin playing guard. The head table seems to have given Taylor a penalty for that, considering it a pull. Vetrov drops back, Pearman comes up. Now Taylor drops back on his own leg lock attempt, they are in double pull as points hit. Taylor finally comes up, he needs to pass. He's working on a knee cut. 90 seconds. Time ticking away and Taylor won't get it done. The bad pull decides the final.

  • Women's +65kg - Anabel Lopez def Nia Blackman by decision

Our last women's final is up. Both are choosing to wrestle, first to get on top will be at a big advantage. 3:30 into the 8 minute match and Nia uses an underhook to try and jump an armbar but Anabel stays safe and lands on top. Nia now playing guard as points hit. Anabel can't pass and we are into OT. Two minutes down, no major attempts yet. Going to decision, could go either way. Anabel gets it.

  • Men's -88kg - Marlon Tajik def. Faris Benlamkadem by decision

Big final here at -88kg. Marlon out quick with a takedown, Faris gets up and Marlon puts him right back down. Faris in his half guard. As Marlon switches sides, Faris catches him in a beautiful cross ashi entrance. Marlon manages to spin and escape out back to his split squat. He nearly passes early into points but Faris catches three quarter mount. As Marlon works to free the foot, Faris explodes up and out. Faris picking up some momentum now with a few takedown attempts. 90 left in regulation. Short time left and Faris uses a takedown attempt to move to a rear body lock, then a near takedown out of bounds. They jockey around about a reset, but Faris cannot convert before time expires, Marlon wrestles back into him, we're into OT. Hard hand fighting but no committed attacks. 90 seconds. Faris in the final ten seconds throws by a takedown attempt and nearly takes the back! Incredible stuff. Decision time. They go with Marlon.

  • Men's -99kg - Eoghan O'Flanaghan def. Muhamed Urusov by outside heel hook

Eoghan comes out and pulls, taking the negative immediately. Urusov seems unwilling to engage now that he's up. Points are now active. Urusov is running the moment he gets any serious grips from Eoghan. Eoghan trying to open his guard up and let Urusov in more but he just jumps back out when he feels any heat. Finally Urusov gets hit with a negative. Two minutes left. Eoghan is still pushing the action. Finally he connects on an outside heel hook and gets the tap with under five seconds on the clock! He's heading back to Worlds!

  • Men's +99kg - Haisam Rida def Aidan Woodley by rear naked choke

Our final match of the event. Both men hand fighting but not commiting to any takedowns. About two minutes to go, Haisam with a hip toss and he's on the back! He sinks in the choke and wins by submission for his ticket back to Worlds.

Semifinals

-66kg

  • Kostiantyn Zhyvanov def. Sergio Riquelme by decision
  • Yigit Hanay def Richard Bukovsan by rear naked choke

Semifinals are starting and will continue to roll out as they become available (basically when both quarterfinals winners are ready). First one out will be Richie B and Yigit facing off. Richie pulls and is entering legs while Yigit looks to hip switch and sprawl. They are in 50/50, Yigit standing and basing, when points hit. Yigit finally extracts his leg and passes around the outside. Richie turtles, Yigit takes his back and scores. He sinks the choke and is into his first Trials final.

Riquelme and Zhyvanov up now in the other semifinal at -66kg. Both men wrestling. Zhyvanov eventually converts a single leg and is on top in turtle. He can't score before regulation ends and we're in overtime. Zhyvanov lifts another single leg and Riquelme rolls to guard. We go to decision and Zhyvanov takes it.

-77kg

  • Taylor Pearman def Dominic Klingher by rear naked choke
  • Nikolay Vetrov def Thomas Barry by armbar

Taylor and Dominic out first. Taylor pulls and uses a leg lock attempt to get on top. He passes into mount and then the back. Taylor scores now and is looking for the choke. He finds it and is into his second Trials final.

Nikolay and Thomas up now. NIkolay pulls and attacks legs but Thomas is floating to both sides well. Nikolay catches an arm and gets the tap, he's into the finals.

-88kg

  • Marlon Tajik def Mateusz Mazur by rear naked choke
  • Faris Benlamkadem def. Linus Von Schrenk by points 3-0

Marlon and Mateusz in our first semifinal. Marlon wrestles Mateusz down, but he's happy to play guard. Marlon knee slides his way to side control, then jumps to the back when it becomes available and sinks in the rear naked choke.

Faris and Linus in a Trials rematch from last cycle. Physical hand fight from both men, looking to wear down their opponent late into the tournament. We are into OT without many committed attacks. Linus gets to a leg and sits Faris down but Faris wrestles up and is now into a rear body lock. Faris drives a takedown across a few mats but won't get any score. Close one here. Thirty seconds, Faris digs deeper and converts Linus's shot into a back take for the win. He's into the finals.

-99kg

  • Eoghan O'Flanaghan def Jean Maltese by inside heel hook
  • Muhamed Urusov def Marcin Maciulewicz by decision

Marcin and Muhamed in our first semifinal at -99kg. Marcin pulls. He nearly enters into an arm twice. Muhamed working around the guard more now as the points period kicks in. He nearly passes but Marcin recovers. Another near-pass and Marcin barely gets to an elbow to prevent the score. He's in his closed guard. We're into OT. Marcin ends up being able to pull after a scramble but Muhamed is on top of his guard again and has controlled the match. We go to decision. Muhamed wins the upset.

Eoghan and Jean Maltese in our second semifinal at this weight, winner meets Muhamed. Eoghan pulls. He rolls to top and then falls back on a leg. He pummels his way into cross ashi and an inside heel hook for the win!

  • Aidan Woodley def Anton Dmitrakov by decision
  • Haisam Rida def. Christian Ozbek by armbar

Christian and Haisam meet first in a battle of good judo based grapplers. Christian gets snapped under and Haisam climbs on his back - then off to the armbar for the quick submission! He's into the finals.

Aidan and Anton up to determine the second finalist at heavyweight. Anton pulls, Aidan putting pressure from top. With short time left, Aidan is able to knee slide his way into three quarter mount and the back - but just barely loses time to score and we go to OT. Anton takes a bad shot and Aiden is on top in turtle. Anton trying to grab a leg and roll, he at least manages to get guard and Aidan passes and ends up in turtle again. We go to decision and Aidan Woodley takes it.

-55kg

  • Janette Gloger def. Liisi Vaht via rear naked choke
  • Ana Mayordomo def Cara Du Plessis by decision

Liisi and Janette are out first. Liisi pulls. Janette passes around to turtle, Liisi rolls back to guard. She works into 50/50, Gloger escapes and tries to pass (her knee ended up at a nasty angle). Liisi is all over that leg with reaps and other attacks but can't finish. OT. Gloger wrestles to the back, she finishes with one hook in and advances.

Ana and Cara in our last semifinal. Ana pulls, she is able to enter legs and spends most of the regulation round attacking various lower body submissions but Cara defends everything well. We go to OT now. Ana hasn't had to use much wrestling, this will be interesting. Ana in on a single, Cara tries to counter but Ana ends up on top in turtle. She spends the rest of the round going for hooks. Decision time, Ana wins.

  • Ane Svendsen def Martyna Kapuscinska by points 4-0
  • Injana Goodman def Rana Willink by rear naked choke

Martyna and Ane up first. Martyna pulls. They leg pummel from double pull. Points now in effect. Martyna gets a leg finally, Ane rolls and is on top of turtle. Martyna rolls back to guard. We go to OT. Martyna shoots and Ane is right onto her back and scores. She will get the win and is into another Trials final.

Injana and Rana up. Injana snaps Rana down and is on her back quickly. Hooks, body triangle, rear naked choke. Injana back in the finals.

  • Nia Blackman def. Salla Simola by points 3-0
  • Anabel Lopez def. Jessika Torttila by decision

Jessika and Anabel are up in the first women's semifinal. There's a few times where Anabel gets Jessika down but Jessika explodes up. Anabel finally uses a throw by to end up on top in turtle with a power half. Anabel can't convert, we're into OT. Anabel back on her front headlocks. Anabel is able to get her down and pressure into turtle. Time will expire and Anabel takes the decision.

Salla and Nia up for the second semifinal. Salla pulls, she draws Nia into her closed guard. Nia breaks open the guard and passes, but we're still before points. Salla reguards and points are now active. Nia passes to turtle. She takes the back now and will ride that out for the win!

Ana Mayordomo gets it done by points, her first European trials win this season not by submission.

Culic and Jean Maltes tack on wins and we are starting to trickle out heavyweights as well. Leo Zuza uses a tight toe hold to advance past Abraham Martinez. Haisam cruises to a points win. 17 year old Tommy Turner wins in under a minute.

Daniel Deeder with a points win. Thomas Barry picks up a submission win over Carson Coles. Pearman wins by submission. Guillame LeClerc upsets Tomas Smirnovas.

Another round of -66kg is coming back up with David Shutz and Guy Burshtein first up. Burshtein wins in short order. Richie B advances on points. Zhyvanov uses his front headlock to advance again. Kamil Wilk, a veteran in this division, uses a wicked Mir Lock to win and advance. Yigit Hanay and Andrii Chernitskyi also advance, this next round is set to really heat things up.

-66kg Round 16

-88kg is beginning now as well. Davis Asare, a late move up from -77kg, he passes quickly. He will coast to a win. Marlon is up now. There's a drone flying around that keeps surprising me when it swings into the view. Linus Von Schrenk of Germany also up now. Both will win by points and advance. Fun match at -88kg when Ash Gibson sends a heel hook in the final ten seconds to win after being down 3-0. Faris uses a late back take to advance. I just realized Santeri Lillius, the likely one seed, isn't here - that really opens things up for the rest of the field.

-77s are starting to roll through, Natan Sapp is submitted with a guillotine in an upset. Taylor Pearman gets another quick submission win and keeps rolling on. Thomas Barry and Sebastian Patyk both advance as well. Carson Coles picks up a decision to advance.

A few minor upsets to start the day at -66kg, with Karkanas and Sear both losing first round. Quick submission work by Richie B, Guy Burshtein, and Nazir Charalambous. Ash Williams wins by decision. Venezuelan Cristian Amador pulls off a minor upset with a sub-1 minute submission of Shakhbanov.
