Polaris 36 Preview: 3 Titles On The Line In Croydon

Europe's best grappling show is back this weekend as Polaris 36 goes down live from Croydon, England - and streaming live exclusively on FloGrappling. There are going to be three key title matches and plenty of interesting clashes for fans to enjoy, don't miss a moment as the action starts at 8:30am on March 7th - with a full undercard free on YouTube.

Ethan Crelinsten of Simple Man Martial Arts is back to defend his Polaris lightweight title, this time against an unexpected contender. Shaï Gerena of Belgium won a recent Polaris tournament to earn this title shot, defeating four men in a night. Shaï is a brown belt who has had impressive showings in ADCC Trials competition and now he gets his shot against a proven talent like Crelinsten. Ethan has been having world class success for years now and typically does his best work at 155lbs. This will be Ethan's first action since CJI 2. Look out for his back takes and submissions from the back.

In the co-main event, Kendall Reusing returns to competition to take on world class contender Anabel Lopez Beard for the Polaris openweight title. Both of these women are coming into this match from different places. Kendall has proven many times that she is one of the best heavyweights in the world, using her wrestling, fluidity, and top pressure - but she hasn't competed since August of 2024. That's a long layoff and while she's always been prepared but is going to raise questions about rust. Anabel on the other hand has been staying very busy and is coming off of a championship at the ADCC European Trials where she earned her way to the 2026 Worlds. Anabel doesn't have Kendall's wrestling but she is very solid everywhere and makes a lot of great decisions. This is a 50/50 match that fans should be checking out.

in the final title match of the evening, Gianni Grippo is set to face Owen Jones for the featherweight title. These two have been set to face off in multiple organizations but now finally get to settle things this weekend. Gianni has far more experience than Owen, but Owen doesn't lack for confidence - and skill. He is a dangerous submission hunter who is always staying up to date on the most up-to-date trends in the game. Gianni uses a tight passing style to pressure through the guard and his arm triangle is elite if he can get to it.

Also on the card, 10th Planet's resident 'Butter Panther' PJ Barch is back in action as he takes on 'fishnet' master Shane Fishman. PJ is always one of the most technically interesting guys to watch and now he matches styles with one of the most unique guard players in Europe. Sarah Galvão is also staying as busy as ever as she hops right into competition with a match against the UK's Libby Genge. Libby had a great No-Gi Pans and has been world ranked, now she gets an opportunity against an elite grappler while Sarah tries to continue her magical rookie season.
