What's Happening In Jiu-Jitsu

-5 more qualified for the ADCC Worlds at the South American Trials in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. They are: David Santos, Julio Martins, Franco Diaz, Eli Braz, Roosevelt Sousa. The women's champions from the event were Monserrat Ruiz, Ana Silva, and Ingridd Alves. The next Trials are this upcoming Saturday in Indiatuba.

-Fabricio Andrey has officially accepted an invitation to the ADCC World Championships at -66kg.

-WNO 32, coming up at the end of this month, will feature a slate of matches to go along with the announced brackets. They are:

  • Jacob Bornemann vs Nick Mataya
  • Felipe Costa vs Sebastian Attard
  • Lillian Marchand vs Jaine Fragoso
  • Bebe Junco vs Zoe Freeman
  • Austin Senos vs Raajus Dewan

-Tye Ruotolo defended his championship belt at ONE, defeating Pawel Jaworski by decision after a ten minute match.

-UFC BJJ 6 went down in Vegas, with Mason Fowler and Cassia Moura winning in the evening's championship bouts. At the event, there were two announcements; the Canutos (Renato & Raquel) are expecting their first child and Andrew Tackett will face Vagner Rocha for the UFC BJJ belt in a few weeks.

-Ocean Pro had another set of Trials in Varsavia, with four more qualifying for their pro event this year. The Trials winners were Roksana Wodzynska, Martyna Kapuscinsa, David Angelo, and Jakub Najdek.

-Speaking of Renato Canuto, he won his fourth pro MMA bout by stoppage to push his record to 4-0 over the weekend.

-In other MMA action, Bia Mesquita kept her undefeated record intact with a savage submission win in the UFC over Monserrat Rendon.
