There are so many storylines in every division, with break out performances, incredible matches, upsets, old veterans showing out one more time, and more. All matches are still available on FloGrappling with so many gems for the hardcore fans to enjoy.
-Roosevelt Sousa accepted a 3 year ban from IBJJF competition after an adverse testing result at No-Gi Worlds. Sousa relinquishes his dual gold medals from the event, which now transfer to Heikki Jussila and Elder Cruz. The drug he tested postive for was meldonium, a substance that has cardio benefits. The testing window for meldonium recently was expanded because of advances in medical technology.
-World no-gi rankings have been updated after Trials, available now on FloGrappling.
-Diogo 'Baby Shark' Reis will face Yuki Takahashi at ONE Fight Night 43 in about a month at 145lbs. Diogo is the current ONE FC 135lb champion and now moves back to the weight he has won 2 ADCC world titles at.
-Black belt world champion Fellipe Andrew will make his IBJJF return at Brasileiros in the heavyweight division. Andrew last competed in the IBJJF circuit at 2024 Pans.
-Connect Heroes, a brand new organization, made a splash by announcing several new super matches to take place on their inaugural card. The entire card will air on YouTube in July, I know I'm definitely tuning in. Matches include:
- Fabricio Andrey vs Meyram Maquine
- Diogo Reis vs Rerisson Gabriel
- Filipe Assis vs Pedro Machado
