Black Belt Live Updates

Fellipe Andrew back up for his semifinal against Rider Zuchi - he strikes very quickly for a takedown and leads on the scoreboard. He's up 13-0 but needs some medical attention after a scramble. They appear to be working on his back, unclear if he can continue. Looks like things are unfortunately over, Rider will advance.

The men's semifinals are now beginning to roll out for the back half of weights, starting with Tainan vs Gabriel Avila. Tainan wastes no time again and will move back to the finals, he looks unstoppable as he hunts his third official Grand Slam. The final few quarters are up now too for the big men, with Gutemberg up against rookie Guilherme Avelino. In the heavyweight semifinal, Leo Ferreira snatches a crazy tight armbar over Davi Vetoraci - his second submission win over a Vetoraci brother this season.

Fellipe Andrew gets it done by advantages over the always scrappy Mathias Luna. Erich Munis takes the mat for the first time today in his divisional quarterfinal. In short order he has the submission and is moving on.

With the lightweight semifinals done, the quarters for middle and beyond will begin to roll out. Tainan is up first and he wastes no time racking up points, taking the back, and finishing with a choke. At medium-heavy, Eduardo Alves is up now against Rui Alves. Eduardo has been on fire this year but Rui is up 4 early. Rui will hold on and collect the win, a big one for the DreamArt lapel player.

Meyram is back up now against Diego Sodre. It's always close with these guys, this feels like the final. On the other mat, Andy Murasaki continues to rack up points and he's dominated his way into the finals. Meyram is able to sweep and hold position enough to advance past Sodre, 2-0. In a dramatic semifinal at lightweight, Luis Felipe da Silva Ribas comes from behind to take Sandrey Silva's back and secures the win with a standing choke after going down by 3.

We are rolling back through the semifinals of our first few weights now. Italo Pereira, a young rookie black belt, makes the finals of his first major in an upset over Soares. Pato puts up 17 points in beating Carlos Junior. Rerisson rides several advantages to victory over Shoya Ishiguro.

Meyram Maquine, one of the stars of the sport, is up now. Leo Santos keeps it competitive but Meyram uses a sweep to score and advance. Joao Bisnaga Mendes up right after, they're the top-2 here today, he's facing Cleison Gabriel. After ten minutes without much action, Cleison takes the upset! Right after that, Andy Murasaki collects a brutal choke to advance.

Action has begun here at the final day of the 2026 IBJJF Brasileiro! We are kicking things off with the men's quarters. Unfortunately our first finish of the day is an early DQ at rooster, Welerson Goncalves will advance after a reap from Osamah. Couple close ones, as Italo Pereira advances off an advantage and Oziel Santos wins a decision. Pato is up now for his quarter and uses his top game to advance. On the other mat, it's a very technical battle between Rerisson and Ogawa. They go to decision and it's for Gabriel.
