The Brazilian National Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championships goes down today in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and tickets to compete in the 2016 World Pro in Abu Dhabi are on the line.
There is a total of around $80,000 in prizes and travel packages on the table, and the chance to win a ticket to compete in the World Pro has brought out some of Brazil's best grapplers.
By far the most stacked weight divisions is the -77kg (169lb) with 16 very tough entrants.
77kg Division
At 77kg the ones to watch will be Felipe Cesar, hot from his gold medal at last weekend’s IBJJF Brazilian No-Gi Nationals. The Barbosa submission-hunter has looked on form these last months and is one of the favorites for the division.
Another young up and comer to keep an eye on is Wellington Luis, formerly of Cicero Costha and now representing Leandro Lo’s Brotherhood team. Luis took the gold this year as a brown belt and was bumped up to black shortly after, making this his first attempt at winning a ticket at the highest level.
