2016 has been an explosive year for the growth of jiu-jitsu. Now as the UAEJJF's 10-day mega-event is upon us, the numbers shows just how huge this year's series of tournaments will be.
The IBJJF recorded it's biggest tournament to date when the European Championships in Lisbon drew over 3500 competitors from 70 countries and pro jiu-jitsu events such as Fight To Win paid out over $30,000 in prize money.
From April 15-23, the UAEJJF will run three consecutive events (as well as a series of superfights) that will showcase over 6000 athletes, making it the biggest series of jiu-jitsu tournaments in the world.
