FloSports Lands $21.2M in Funding
My brother and I co-founded FloSports in 2006 with one goal: We wanted to create a next-generation sports media company that would grow the sports we love, the athletes who compete in them, the events showcasing their abilities and the dedicated fans who follow them.

I wrestled at Cal-Poly, and Mark was a track All-American at the University of Texas. The sports we competed in and loved were filled with incredible athletes, but there was no comprehensive coverage. We wanted the world to see these athletes and the extraordinary things they did.

But there was no place for fans like us to connect with the sports they love.

So Mark and I decided to do something about it. We hopped in a van and piled on countless miles traveling to sporting events across the United States. The communities around the sports we covered accepted us and even welcomed us into their homes. It was a nice change of pace from sleeping in the van.

It has been 10 years, and the mission of FloSports has not changed. We have grown from FloWrestling and FloTrack to a network of 14 dedicated sports verticals, and we have more coming.

Today is a milestone in our company's history. We are announcing $21.2M in Series B funding from a group of investors including DCM Ventures, BDMI, World Wrestling Entertainment, Discovery Communications and our existing investor Causeway Media Partners, This article from the Wall Street Journal provides more details.

This investment allows us to add more fuel to our over-the-top model and provides a vote of confidence as we continue in our mission to deliver the sports you love in the breadth and manner that they deserve to be covered.

We'll be using the funds to improve our digital platform and add OTT apps like Roku and Apple TV. We'll be enhancing your user experience and adding new features to our live streams. And we'll put more resources towards research and development so we can stay on the cutting edge of technology as we continue our mission to bring you more of the sports you love.

The van my brother and I drove around the country, dreaming of a future where we could easily and instantly access the sports we loved, is still here. We parked it behind our office. It reminds us of how far we've come, but it also reminds us that we still have roads to travel.

Thank you for being a part of our community. We know we wouldn't be here without your support.
