Kron Gracie returned to the ring for the second time last night to face Hideo Tokoro in the main event of RIZIN Fighting Federation 2.
Tokoro has been competing in MMA professionally since 2000 and has amassed a career record of 33-28-2, including a win over Royler Gracie and a draw against Royce Gracie. In contrast, this would be Kron's third professional fight in three years. But lack of ring experience was made up in spades by skills on the ground.
Kron dictated the pace of the fight on the feet and was able to secure a takedown early in the 10-minute round. From there it was only a matter of time. Kron maintained back control for nearly six straight minutes, only to briefly lose the position in a scramble before getting it back almost instantly. He secured a rear-naked choke with just 17 seconds left in the round.
