Flashback: Faisal Wins His First Major Gold
Faisal Al Ketbi of the UAEJJ Team won his first major gold medal at the Abu Dhabi Rio de Janeiro Grand Slam in November when he became champion of the -83kg black belt division.

This marked Faisal's long-awaited breakthrough moment, his first gold medal at a major jiu-jitsu tournament in the black belt ranks.

For Faisal, it was the result of some big changes and a lot of hard work. With the assistance of coach Roberto Gordo, Faisal dropped down a division (from -94kg to -85kg in the gi or -83kg no-gi).

The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam goes down on January 13-14, with no-gi on Friday and gi on Saturday streaming LIVE on FloGrappling.

Al Ketbi competes this weekend in the both gi and no-gi divisions in his hometown of Abu Dhabi. Can he repeat his feat?
