FloSports Announces Main Card For Submission Underground 4

AUSTIN, TX -- March 27, 2017 -- Today, FloSports, the innovator in live digital sports and original content, announced the official main card for Submission Underground 4 featuring Dillon Danis and Jake Shields as the headline fighters for the May 14 live event in Portland, Ore. The submission-only grappling competition, co-presented by FloSports and Chael Sonnen, will be live streamed to an international audience exclusively on FloGrappling.com starting at 3:00 p.m. PST.

Hosted at Portland's Roseland Theater, Submission Underground 4 features the world's most competitive grapplers going toe-to-toe in a cage. In his second Submission Underground competition, headline fighter Dillon Danis will look to defend his title after beating AJ Agazarm in OT in Submission Underground 3. MMA fighter and expert grappler Jake Shields will make his return to Submission Underground after he defeated Chris Lytle in the inaugural event in July 2016.

In addition to Danis vs. Shields, the submission-only matches pull from some of the world's top jiu-jitsu black belts and will feature several matchups starring up-and-coming prodigies, UFC stars, and grappling veterans. The Submission Underground 4 card includes:
  • ​Paulo Miyao vs. Urijah Faber
  • Michael Perez vs. Nathan Orchard
  • John Combs vs. Gilbert Burns

Recently, we published an article about Dillon Danis watching a viral video of a Baltimore teenager getting beaten up by several students in his school's bathroom. Danis was bullied himself as a child and felt the need to reach out to help. Dillon said if the victim was interested in training, he would happily pay for his jiu-jitsu membership.
