And the names confirmed for the event include stars such as Leandro Lo, Felipe Pena, Edwin Najmi, Isaque Bahiense, and more!

"We are a tiny Island in the Pacific that has one of the biggest hearts and love for jiu-jitsu. We open our home to everyone who has best intentions of helping and promoting our island paradise," event promoter Steve Shimizu said.

Our goal is to give our local competitors a chance to go up against the world's best BJJ players. By bringing world class athletes, it gives the chance for our island to see how these athletes perform live!
Past winners of the Marianas Open include Keenan Cornelius (2015) and Felipe Pena (2016).

How it works

The day will start with an open tournament. At around 10 AM local time (Chamorro Time) the main show begins, and the two pro divisions will run. The prize for first place in each division is $3,000. Second and third place get $1,500 and $500, respectively.
