The Brazilian superstar black belt revealed exclusively to FloGrappling that he has injured his knee and decided not to fight this week at the Abu Dhabi 2017 World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
The black belt had four weekends of back-to-back competitions planned: ADCC, World Pro, Brazilian Nationals, and the Marianas Open in Guam.
Lo has announced his withdrawal from World Pro and had already decided not to compete in Guam, and his place in the tournament was taken by Tarsis Humphreys. It is not currently known if Lo will compete at the Brasileiros on April 29-30.

I'm feeling my knee, and I thought it better if I save myself as I wouldn't fight well," Lo said. "It would be exhausting for me, so I prefer to rest and look after my knee.Lo, who won double gold at both the IBJJF European and Pan championships this year at heavyweight, is coming off a superfight victory win over Gordon Ryan at the ADCC North American West Coast Trials.
