Brazilian Nationals: Black Belt Absolute Division Update
Leandro Lo and Erberth Santos will face off at least once tomorrow, as both men made their way through to the finals of the black belt openweight division at the Brazilians Nationals.

Lo is signed up at super heavyweight for this tournament, the same division as Santos. They could potentially meet twice tomorrow, in both weight division and the absolute final.

Erberth had a knock-down, drag-out battle with long-time nemesis Victor Honorio, which nearly resulted in both men getting DQ'd for repeated stalling calls. This doesn't tell the true story of the match though -- it was characterized by dynamic takedowns, near submission attempts, and dramatic reversals.

Leandro bested Renato Cardoso of Alliance in the semifinals and big man Otavio Nalati in the quarters to advance, both by points.

Female absolute

Tayane Porfirio and Beatriz Mesquita make up the combatants in the female black belt openweight final. This is third is the third time they will meet this year, having fought in the European absolute finals and the Pan absolute semifinals. Porfirio is 2-0 versus Mesquita.

Porfirio looked even more aggressive than usual, defeating Barbara Gomes dos Santos and Bianca Basilio to confirm her place in the final.

On the other side of the bracket Beatriz outpointed the game Claudia do Val of De la Riva and submitted Carina Curvelo Santi wit a bow and arrow choke.
